Blue Air Filters - Are They the Best For Allergy Sufferers?

The blue air filters and purifiers are one of the most expensive brands of air purifiers on the market, but they are growing in popularity. But are they the best air purifier for allergy sufferers and asthmatics?

If you suffer from air borne allergies the last place you want to feel sick is in your own own home. Yet still for most allergy sufferers being indoors at home can be a nightmare, why? Because the air inside your home is up to 10 time more polluted and contaminated than the air outside, even in a large city.

The absolute best air filters on the market to day s the true hepa filter. These filters are developed to trap and contain up to 99.97% of all indoor contaminants. I am talking about dust, smoke, dander, pollen, mold, viruses and bacteria. The hepa filters can deal with microscopic particles as small as 0.3 microns that is about the size of a bacteria.

The blue air filters are not true hepa filter and uses a combination of processes to remove small pollutants. Through a system of "hepa like" filters, electrostatic and carbon to remove some negative charged ions, they can get pretty close to the hepa.

The plus is that the blue air purifiers are a lot quieter but the draw back is the negatively charged ions. These ions can have an adverse effect on allergy sufferers especially asthmatics. The other issue with the blue is the price for the units and the filters.

This is why I only recommend air purifiers with true hepa filters, the unit might be a bit more noisy but the air you will breath will be superior.

There are several really good brands of air purifiers that uses hepa filters and are not as noisy. If you are an asthmatic then you should go with a air purifier that uses a hepa filter
