Is it Allergies, a Cold, Or is Your House Making You Sneeze?

Ah spring has come and has brought warmth to cold weary bodies. The sun is bringing color to a dull and dreary landscape. The birds are chirping and the sounds of spring are rampant. Yes, don't you hear that sound of spring. Sneezing, coughing, and the sounds of being sick are all around. Itching eyes, runny noses, coughing incessantly and sneezing until we can not breathe are the sounds I hear. People are flocking by the droves to the local pharmacy to pick up their favorite allergy medications. But, what is making us sneeze? Is it the pollen, the mold, the dust? What is making us feel so terrible that we do not want to get outside. Wait, if we are not getting outside then how are we getting inundated with the pollen? Maybe the culprit is not the trees or the grass, maybe it is your home.

Yes, your house could be making you ill. People all the time are telling me it is worse now than when we were young and outside all the time, why? Do you remember when you were growing up how the windows were open, doors had screens on them and not glass? Do you remember those winter drafts around the windows and doors? Energy efficient housing has done away with those drafts and has sealed the heat or air conditioning in the house so "we won't heat or cool the outside". Now with the innovation of this sealed vault we live in that means outside air is not ventilating through the house anymore. No more fresh air just conditioned air. Every wonder why they call it air conditioning? It conditions the air to cool or heat but not to be fresh.

Couple this with all the newest products on the market such as spray linen deodorants. You know that stuff you spray on your couch and rug to make it smell like all outdoors? You know why you have to do that now don't you? There is no outdoors indoors any longer. So you use a chemical spray to condition the air. Look at that can. It contains items such as butane, and compressed gas. It contains items that are on the list of the EPA as cancer causing agents. We clean with chlorine. Chlorine used to be used by the military to kill people. We use products in our homes that were never meant to be used this way. Look at the can or bottle. It says, use only in a well ventilated room. Our rooms are not well ventilated or we would not need to fake the outdoors. Do not use in an enclosed space, do not use around animals. These warning ought to raise a red flag to you.

Could you home be making you sick? Most likely. In the next few publications I will be telling you some stories I have gathered about children who are either maimed or killed from household products you use every day.
